Golf Pro Michelle Wie Lends Her Name to Hawaii Junior Golf Tournament and it’s nice to see that successful athletes actually get involve. I feel that more successful professionalizes should help support their respective fields. Michelle became involve when she was only 12 years old.

Golf Pro Michelle Wie Lends Her Name to Hawaii Junior Golf TournamentMichelle Wie is lending her name to the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association’s Tournament of Champions this year to help the organization’s biggest fundraiser.

In addition to serving as ambassador for the Michelle Wie Tournament of Champions, Wie, who won the tournament’s 15-18 age division in 2002 when she was 12, has pledged to match every donation dollar for dollar, up to $10,000.

“HSJGA and I go way back to when I was just a kid who loved to hit the ball a long way,” Wie said in a statement. “They gave me the opportunity to develop my game and competitive drive in an open, nurturing environment – they really made it possible for me to take my game to the next level.”

Wie is also tweeting about the event on Twitter @themichellewie.

The tournament is scheduled for Dec. 14-16 at Wailea Emerald Course on Maui.
